I started this blog in 2020, while preparing for the EQE main exams. After passing all exams for the first time with flying colours, I started supporting other candidates on their EQE journey.
Since then, I tutored more than 200 candidates regularly (on a weekly basis), including people from prestigious companies such as the EPO, Cooley, Finnegan, Keltie, Grünecker, Maiwald, Hoffmann Eitle, df-mp, Barker Brettell, Brann, Laine IP, Bergenstråhle & Partners, Nestle, Kuhnen & Wacker, Betten & Resch, P&TS, ZBM, Cantaluppi, Fish & Richardson, Appleyard Lees, Onsagers, Clarke Modet, Kolster, NLO, Pirelli, Adidas, Novo Nordisk, Knauf, tesa, Japan Tobacco International, Ramboll, Ascendis Pharma, thyssenkrupp, Schneider Electric, Philip Morris International, Philips and Roche and held more than 400 meetings as an EQE tutor.

PCT reference books
If you are preparing for the EPAC or EQE, you will definitely need an EPC and PCT reference book. In this post, I am listing the different PCT reference books I am aware of. I am also summarising their features, advantages and disadvantages.

My printable materials
I have prepared a lot of tables, lists for myself for the EQE and I shared all of them here, on my blog with you, in different blog articles. To find them easier, I am sharing them again, in one place.
Feel free to print them all. If you found them useful, please consider donating (optional, of course:)).
If you have any feedback, I would be happy to hear them!

Advice for first-time sitters
This post has been created for first-time EQE candidates. I have asked EQE-qualified attorneys:
- Is there something you wish someone had told you when you started preparing for the main exams?
- What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone sitting the EQE for the first time?
Then I have compiled all the tips into this one comprehensive blog post.

A possible 6-month study plan for EQE 2025/2026
There are about 6 months until EQE 2026. For candidates who enrolled for at least some of the main exams, the next 6 months will be mostly about studying.
I have tried to create a realistic study plan supporting candidates who plan to sit all 4 main exams in 2026. However, please remember that I don't know your life situation, so feel free to personalise and adjust the plan according to your commitments and available free time.

EQE appeal
In this long awaited post you can learn how to file an appeal against the results of the EQE.
This post was written by a lovely patent attorney who went through this fight after EQE 2023 (successfully). She wanted to support and help others by writing this detailed summary about the EQE appeal process. I’m grateful for her contribution to the EQE blog!

My 2024 Paper D1 answer
Shortly after Paper D 2024 I also answered the D1 questions out of curiousity, but I was not sure whether I should publish them. However, since a few candidates asked, here we go. I do have some disclaimers though!

Paper D2: 5 common mistakes
After finishing 10 D2 study group meetings (8-12 candidates in a group, every meeting lasting about 5 hours), I noted the most frequently made mistakes so that you can all learn from these and gain more marks.

Paper D2 methodology and updated D2 table
The D2 methodology I learnt and used at the EQE are so amazing! It is seriously my favorite part, also to teach.
In this post, I am sharing the steps of this methodology and also an updated template (with more place for disclosures).

Improvement ideas in a Paper D2
Paper D2 often asks you what kind of improvements you can do regarding the client’s applications and patents. I created a list of possible improvements that you might be able to use in a Paper D2.

Paper D in WISEflow
In this article I am demonstrating what method I use when doing a Paper D in the WISEflow system.

My template for Paper DII
As you probably know, Paper DII is about analysing a complex patent situation and giving advice to a client. This part will be worth 50 points in 2021. Click to see some useful sentences for the situation-as-is part and to download my timeline template.

Common Paper D mistakes
When doing previous papers, we often make mistakes. However, that is the point of preparation. We are supposed to make these mistakes, but only at the first time. See my list of my previous mistakes so that you can avoid making the same.
